Therapy Testimonial

“I used to feel super anxious and overwhelmed all the time, but talking to Jemima Ma'am really helped. She listened and never made me feel weird or like my problems were stupid. She also gave me ways to deal with my stress. Now I feel more in control and a lot happier. I am really grateful to Helped.”

Therapy Testimonial

I've found the sessions to be personally insightful and hopeful. Jemima led the sessions with calm. I thought it was well spaced out, and we had time to assess the situation or the issue and process it with clear understanding. Personal growth can be a rocky road for anybody, so finding a therapist who is trustworthy and kind is very imperative, I was lucky in this case. It was helpful to have time between sessions that can allow a person space to process, digest and reflect on their growth and circumstance. Another thing I've found very useful was the provision of tools and resources that help you gain a deeper look inside yourself.”

Student Support Group Testimonial

"Being part of this psychology support group has been a truly valuable experience. It offers genuine support and a welcoming space to share and learn. The group provides relevant information, helps build connections with others in the field, and helps bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. It has been both encouraging and enriching, and I would highly recommend it to those looking to grow personally and professionally in the field of psychology.”

When should you consider therapy?
Here are a few considerations:

You don’t always need a diagnosis to get help. Therapy may support you if you’re:

  • Struggling with persistent anxiety, panic, or low mood.

  • Feeling stuck in cycles of self-doubt, guilt, or procrastination.

  • Dealing with family conflict, caregiving stress, or parenting burnout.

  • Recovering from a breakup, loss, or traumatic experience.

  • Facing life transitions (college, new job, moving cities).

  • Coping with chronic illness or disability.

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself or others.

  • Exploring your neurodivergent identity and how to thrive authentically.

  • Seeking support for identity, purpose, or spirituality.

What Can You Expect from Therapy?

Beginning therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you're not sure what to expect. Here's a general roadmap of how the journey might unfold, though remember, each path is unique, and your experience will be shaped by your goals, pace, and needs.

1. Getting Started: Building the Foundation

In the initial sessions, we focus on creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and genuinely heard. Together, we’ll explore what’s brought you here, begin to clarify your goals, and understand your personal story and context.. This phase is about building trust.

2. Deepening Awareness: Understanding and Discovery

As we move forward,  we begin to explore your inner world, your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and beliefs. We’ll identify patterns that may be holding you back, while also uncovering the strengths, values, and resources that have helped you cope so far and, that can help you move forward.

3. Working Through: Healing and Growth

This phase is about doing the deeper work, challenging unhelpful patterns, processing unresolved emotions, and experimenting with new perspectives and behaviours. Together, we’ll work through past pain, unhelpful beliefs, and emotional blocks. You’ll learn new ways of seeing, responding, and relating to yourself and to others. It's often where meaningful change begins.

4. Moving Forward: Integration and Closure

As therapy begins to draw to a close, we’ll reflect on your progress, solidify the gains you've made, and prepare for continued growth outside of therapy. The goal is to leave you feeling more empowered, self-aware, and equipped for life ahead.

A Note to Remember:
Therapy isn't always a predictable process. You may revisit earlier stages or move at a different pace, the process is tailored to you.

Ready to Begin?

Taking the first step can be the hardest, but you're already here.
Let’s take the next step together. You bring the courage, I'll bring the care.
